The Antibiotic Resistance Action Center (ARAC) at the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health has launched the website AntibioticsandYou.org. The website aims to be a helpful resource during the heart of the cold and flu season – a time when antibiotics are in high demand by patients even though neither condition responds to antibiotics.
ARAC in the News
WASHINGTON, D.C. (Oct. 31, 2019) – The Antibiotic Resistance Action Center (ARAC), based at the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health (Milken Institute SPH), co-authored a report released by a coalition of public health and advocacy groups on Oct. 31 examining antibiotics use in the beef supply used by fast food companies.
PBS To the Contrary with Bonnie Erbé takes an in-depth look at the crisis of antibiotic resistance in food animal production and how ARAC scientists are studying how superbugs can get into the food supply. We had a great time filming and showing the reporters how we conduct research. We are excited to be a part of this important episode on the antibiotic resistance crisis.
ARAC Director Dr. Lance Price contributed to a scientific perspective recently published in Clinical Infectious Diseases that highlights the need for new approaches to address antibiotic resistance.
A new video on food safety and safe handling of meat and poultry products has been developed by ARAC and MPH@GW, the online MPH program from the Milken Institute School of Public Health at the George Washington University. Watch it today!
