Katherine is a research assistant working on projects involving the nasal microbiome at ARAC, exploring the relationship between commensal species and nasal pathogens. She received her MS in Public Health Microbiology and Emerging Infectious Disease through GW’s Milken School of Public Health in 2023. Her past research experience at the University of Colorado Boulder focused on host- pathogen protein interactions during viral nuclear replication of polyomaviruses, where she graduated in 2019 with her BS in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. Her research interests include genetic epidemiology and using genomic information to better understand and/or predict emerging pathogens.
